A 30 Day writing challenge - 10 Things that make me Happy

 

 

 

Hello Everybody and welcome back,

 

Today is the start of my 30 Day Writing challenge so feel free to join in.

 

Today I start with 10 things that make me Happy and what a Great way to start. In these serious times its easy to lose focus on the happy things in our lives and be dragged down by all the Bad News that seems to be happening on a daily basis.

 

 

So where do i begin…. Ummm Lets start right here.

 

Number 1 on the list ( which is in no particular order by the way)

 

Writing -

 

Ok I started this Blog quite a few years ago and if I’m honest I din’t use it all that much, I would take extended breaks for long periods of time and wouldn’t be motivated to start again.

 

Now this is mainly due to My Day job and simply not having the energy or time to go into the creative processes behind writing.

 

I saw it as more of a chore then a thing of fun. It wasnt till i returned to it earlier this year seriously, That i found it fun.

Its a great way of getting things of your Chest and out into the world. Even if nobody’s listening, that hasn’t really been what its been about.

 

Writing helps me relax and open up, If i help someone along the way then that is a huge Bonus or if someone likes what i do then that adds to my happiness but its not my main reason for doing it.

 

 

 

Number 2 -

 

Creating Art - 

 

When i was younger I was an avid Sketcher and I suppose it was like a form of mindfulness for me. I just used to focus on the Drawing and all my problems and the rest of the world would fade into the background.

But like my writing that seemed to go on an extended break as I got older and Alcohol beckoned with socialising and travelling. Drawing was put on the Back burner.

Within the last few Years my Love of Art has returned and I joined DeviantArt and was inspired by some of the Amazing creative works and imagination that presided there.

 

From there i Have posted works on Instagram and from the Encouragement I recieved from people, I now have my own Etsy store and My Sister site - Oneideatoday.com

I have also just been accepted into instagrams Shopping Program so my works will be available to purchase directly.

Thats Not forgetting my Redbubble.com and Teepublic.com Shops.

Number 3 - 

 

Family -

 

We all come from different backgrounds and grow up in different situations so I won’t say that Family should be the most important thing to you.

But for me I have quite a large family and we kind of all live our separate lives with contact here and there.

 

But when we see each other then its like no time has passed, We kind of just fit together.

 

Its nice to know that they would be there if I needed them and Likewise I would be there if they needed me, No questions asked.

 

 

Number 4 -

 

The Dogs -

 

As regular Visitors to the site know I have two Dogs - Harvey and Dexter and they are an integral part of our family.

 

We used to have a chocolate Labrador called Bradbury Who has since passed at the grand old age of 15 but he was also a Huge part of our memories and the Grieving process was a horrible one that I’d never endured before.

 

 

But i digress, When i have had an absolutely awful day the site of these two and the excitement of their Daddy being home is just amazing. I can go from completely drained and exhausted to suddenly finding the Energy for their favourite game of …. Hide and seek.

 

They love it.

 

 

Number 5 -

 

My Other Half , Shelley -

 

Well what is there to say that won’t sound too soppy or Lovey Dovey.

 

We have been together just over 10 years and Boy have we had some Ups and Downs.

But she is My rock and such a Strong indivdual a lot stronger than she gives her self credit for at times. She helps me keep going when things are tough with her Beautiful smile and cheeky little Dances, I love this girl.

 

Number 6 -

 

Apple Products -

 

Ok each to their own and if you prefer A different brand thats up to you. Difference is what makes us all unique.

But I am a Huge fan boy of the Apple ecosystem. 

 

Yes i do think their products are over priced, No I don’t think they sell the perfect product.

 

However their Ecosystem fits in with mine, My creativity and Design and all My Art is because I use Apple.

 

I switch from my iPad to My Mac with ease on Projects and it saves me time.

 

I use my Apple to track my fitness and to help me with my cooking.

 

I watch my Films and Netflix etc on Apple TV.

 

IT just works for me and Makes me Happy because it makes it easier for me to do what I love doing.

 

Number 7 -

 

 

Audiobooks ( Mainly Audible) -

 

 

I love reading but have quite a Hectic Lifestyle in terms of free time.

 

So audiobokks are quite the lifesaver.

 

I have everything from Marketing books to Discworld Novels on my Audible App and I love it. A quick 30 minute listen here and there or at night just before bed.

Definitely worth giving a try if your Reader without the time to read.

 

Number 8 -

 

Liverpool FC -

 

Ok I have been a Liverpool Football Club Supporter for Just over 30 Years ( If your in the USA replace Football with Soccer 😂)

I have seen The highs and the very Lows in that time.

 

Why do i Support them, Because they are more than a football Club they are a Family. The song YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE is More than an Anthem its words to live by.

Nobody should ever feel that they are alone, We will all in our lifetimes go through Hard times but There will be light after the storm so Hold your Head up high and Don’t be afraid.

 

The first time I stood in The Kop in a Game against Chelsea in the Champions League Semi Final of 2006 was one of the Most Awe inspiring Nights of My Life, We won on Penalties but the sense of community of those around me who I didn’t even know is how life should be.

 

Everyone helping each other and greeting with a smile .

 

 

Number 9 -

 

Travelling -

 

Ok in Recent years my Travelling Days have not been as Frequent, But from the Age of 14 I caught the Travelling Bug. 

Now I don’t mind a Bit of pool Time Abroad but I am much more about seeing Local cultures and Hidden Gem places to Visit.

I have seen some beautiful places through the Years from Norway to Denmark, From Switzerland to Andorra.

 

I Believe if you have Never travelled then its harder to give an objective opinion about a foreign situation. How can you possibly comment if you have never ventured from your own country and views are based on Rumours and What youve seen of localised areas on TV.

 

Finally Number 10 -

 

Praise, Comments and Feedback.

 

 

Anybody who says they don’t like Praise is an Out and out Liar,

While I do everything for me First and foremost if I receive praise for a job well done then of course it makes me Happy.

However I also love the interaction of comments and If someone gives me Feedback then It gives me something to work on. But always leave constructive feedback for someone, Slagging off someone down to the Ground won’t improve their service or writing etc but give them something to build on.

Its much better building foundations then it is knocking something to the ground.
